PT United Tractors Tbk (UNTR), through its mining subsidiary PT Pamapersada Nusantara (Pama), has revised its coal production growth target for this year to 10-12%, up from the initial 5-6%.
Ari Setiawan, the Investor Relations representative of United Tractors, explained that this revision is prompted by the increased coal production achieved by Pama. As of July 2023, Pama has recorded a 17% rise in coal production, reaching 71 million tons compared to 51 million tons during the same period last year.
In addition to coal production, the overburden removal also witnessed a growth of 21%, reaching 627 million bank cubic meters (bcm), up from the previous 519 million bcm.
"The boost in Pama's production is attributed to drier weather conditions, which have provided a conducive environment for mining operations," Ari stated during a journalist workshop held at United Tractors' office in Cakung, Jakarta, on Wednesday, August 23, 2023.
Another contributing factor is the availability of heavy equipment, enabling Pama to realize its coal production targets. Ari emphasized that considering these conditions and opportunities, United Tractors' management has revised Pama's production target to a growth range of 10-12%.
Aside from Pama's upward trajectory in performance, another subsidiary of UNTR, PT Tuah Turangga Agung (TTA), has also displayed remarkable results. Up until July 2023, TTA managed to sell 7.2 million tons of coal, marking a 10% increase.
