Receh.in - PT Aneka Tambang Tbk (ANTM), also known as Antam, has become part of the leading ESG index or elite on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (BEI). Antam's shares are listed as part of the SRI-KEHATI Index, ESG Sector Leaders IDX KEHATI Index, and ESG Quality 45 IDX KEHATI Index on the BEI for the December 2022 to March 2023 trading period.
The SRI-KEHATI Index is a group of stocks that are considered to have good performance in promoting sustainable efforts and have awareness of good environmental, social, and corporate governance. This is called sustainable and responsible investment (SRI).
Meanwhile, the ESG Sector Leaders IDX KEHATI Index is an index containing a group of stocks with ESG performance assessment above the average of its sector and good liquidity. Furthermore, the ESG Quality 45 IDX KEHATI Index is an index containing the 45 best stocks from the assessment of ESG performance and financial quality, and have good liquidity.
"These three indexes are managed by the BEI in collaboration with the Indonesian Biodiversity Foundation (Yayasan KEHATI)," said Aneka Tambang's Corporate Secretary Syarif Faisal Alkadrie in writing on Friday (12/23/2022).
According to him, the inclusion of Antam shares in these ESG indexes reflects the positive appreciation of shareholders for the company's ongoing environmental, social, and corporate governance performance. In addition, Antam's shares are also currently part of the IDX LQ45 Low Carbon Leaders on the BEI, and remain part of the MSCI Global Standard Index from Indonesia.
"MSCI is an index published by Morgan Stanley Capital International," Syarif added.
In terms of environmental management, he said that Antam is committed to using renewable new energy in some operational elements. This member of MIND ID or the State-Owned Enterprises Holding Mining Industry is also doing de-carbonization efforts by using environmentally friendly fuel in carrying out operational and production activities.
"Antam has also prepared a de-carbonization roadmap, in line with Antam's commitment as a member of MIND ID to carry out sustainable operations. This initiative is in line with the Indonesian government's target to control climate change, which is Net Zero Emission 2060," Syarif concluded.
